The project solves a problem

Fragmentation of public sector data, limited access to metadata, and inconsistent data quality and presentation standards. Currently, data is published through many different portals, making it difficult for users to easily access and understand the available data.

Project objective

To create a "one-stop shop" solution that would allow the public publication of all public sector data production, including official statistics, and ensure the accessibility and reusability of this data.

Planned activities (sub-activities)

  • Modernization of the functionality of the official statistics portal.
  • Creation of a catalog of data, data products, and inventoried metadata.
  • Development of a new administrative services ordering module.
  • User interface updates and integration of artificial intelligence solutions.
  • Portal accessibility.
  • Strengthening cybersecurity and increasing system stability.
  • Implementation of open source solutions and standardization of documentation.

Expected results

  • The Official Statistics Portal has been modernized, which will centrally provide all public sector data production;
  • ensuring more convenient data search and ordering for users
  • The solutions created will allow for more efficient use of public sector data for analytics, research, innovation, and improvement of public services.

The project is financed by the Economic Recovery and Resilience Plan "New Generation Lithuania" and the European Union - NextGenerationEU. The project is administered by the public institution Central Project Management Agency.
